Drone ban above 60 meters above ground valid until May 31st 2024

Due to a volcanic eruption and necessary emergency and investigative flights, the Icelandic Transport Authority has, at the request of the Civil Protection Coordination Centre, prohibited drone flights above 60 meters above ground.

The ban is in an area within 2 nautical miles around the eruption, reference point 635300N02223W, area delineated as the red circle on the picture. The ban is valid until midnight 31 May 2024.

Exemption requests shall be submitted to the Civil Protection Coordination Centre via e-mail [email protected] or via phone 831-1644.
