United Airlines Resumes Seasonal Service Between Keflavik Airport and New York/Newark

United Airlines has resumed its nonstop up to daily seasonal service between Keflavik Airport and its hub at New York/Newark. The service was previously operated between 2018 and 2022 and joins the airline’s existing nonstop daily seasonal service from Reykjavik to its hometown hub at Chicago O’Hare.

“KEF is delighted to welcome back the United Airlines route between Keflavik and New York/Newark,” said Grétar Már Garðarsson, Director of Airline Relations & Route Development at Keflavik International Airport. “The decision to return shows how confident United Airlines is in Iceland as a destination. We at KEF have had an excellent relationship with United in the past and we look forward to developing our strong partnership even further for years to come.”

“We are delighted to resume our nonstop flights from Reykjavik to New York/Newark for the first time since 2022,” said Amit Badiani, Senior Manager Offline and Sales Resources EMEAI, United Airlines. “This is good news for our customers flying from Iceland, as it provides even greater travel choice, a direct link to both the New York and Chicago Metropolitan areas, as well as the possibility to connect via our U.S. hubs to 114 destinations across the Americas. We look forward to welcoming our customers on board.”

United’s seasonal nonstop daily services from Reykjavik to both New York/Newark and Chicago O’Hare are operated with Boeing 757-200 aircraft. Flights between Keflavík Airport and New York/Newark began today and will continue until October 26th. Flights between Keflavík Airport and O'Hare Airport in Chicago began on May 10th and will continue until September 25th.
