Experience DesignMarch at KEF

Icelandic design on the rise. Keflavík Airport (KEF), took part in DesignMarch this year, embracing the theme of “circus” in its widest interpretation. DesignMarch is a vibrant platform for ideas, diverse perspectives and knowledge driving force that enriches and enhances society.

DesignMarch is Iceland's largest design festival and took place from 24th- 28th of April. The theme of the festival this year is addressing global imbalances and extremes while highlighting some of the many creative minds out there intuitively seeking balance. Chaos is the norm and balancing an art. We are proud of Icelandic design and how it is displayed at our airport.

In celebration of DesignMarch the exhibition Samband/Connection was displayed at KEF‘s newly expanded baggage hall. The exhibition highlights a selection of Icelandic contemporary items, designed by nine outstanding Icelandic designers. The focus is on the collaboration between Icelandic and Scandinavian furniture and product design. The exhibition is produced by Epal in collaboration with the Iceland Design and Architecture, The Embassy of Iceland in Denmark, And Business Iceland.

Icelandic design is enormously important to KEF and intertwines in everything that is done at the airport. Guests could experience DesignMarch, whether on arrival or during a layover.
