690 thousand guests in May

A total of 683,565 guests made their way through the airport in May. That is a 6% increase from May last year.

23 airlines flew to 67 destinations in May. The most popular destinations were London, Copenhagen, New York, Paris, and Amsterdam.

The busiest day of the month was on May 31st when 27,429 guests passed through KEF.

According to the Icelandic Tourist Board, the departures of Icelanders in May were 56 thousand. That is a -9% decrease from May last year.

The departures of foreign guests were 155 thousand, which is a 9% decrease from May last year. Most departures in May among foreign guests were US citizens (27%) followed by German (8%), Polish (7%), British (6%), and Dutch citizens (5%).
